History

This story, intimately linked to the Cusio region, has been written by many people, stencilled on this land by the Giacomini family.

With Elia, Valentina, Alessandro, Davide and Zeno, the company's management has entered its third generation.

Our History

Since we were established as a company, on the shores of Lake Orta, water played a central role for us. We use it to heat and cool, we distribute it and measure it, we work with it on a daily basis. Water means inspiration to us, and stands for the ideal element to help us focus on human well-being.

Fifties

The story of our company starts in San Maurizio d'Opaglio, in the province of Novara in 1951, when Alberto Giacomini began to produce small brass components using a lathe. A few years later, the company moved to a new 1500 m2 site, still in San Maurizio d’Opaglio: this point marked the beginning of a steady path of growth, driven by the development of innovative products and systems and by our instinctive drive to market these across national borders.

Sixties

After the early boom years of the business, the first subsidiary was founded in Waldbröl, Germany, in 1961; at the time, this European country was at the forefront of technology and quality. In 1968, we became the first company in the industry to have a research laboratory dedicated to production quality control, functional testing of the products and research into innovative new technologies. In the same year, we won the Oscar for export, which recognised in particular the business activities undertaken with America in that period.

Seventies

In 1972, the forging plant at Castelnuovo del Garda, in the province of Verona, became part of the Giacomini group. In 1974, we became a joint stock company. These years also saw the company reach another important turning point: we evolved from simply being a manufacturer of individual components, and began to make a name for ourselves as a supplier of integrated systems

Eighties

In the early eighties, we launched Program 80, the range of valves with thermostatic option and thermostatic heads that made us famous. Through innovative industry advertising campaigns, we spread word of the capacity to manage radiator temperature with a simple and effective automatic adjustment.

In 1986, we achieved BSI certification, testament to a company policy aimed at maintaining and improving quality through formal procedures.

Nineties

In the early nineties, the innovative "Giacomini Consulting" project took off, through which we: offer a specialist training service to wholesalers and installers; provide assistance in designing systems, with specialist technical consultants and specific software packages.

In 1994, in the industrial area of San Maurizio d'Opaglio, the "Plastics Division" was born, for the production of pipes and polymer components. The "plastic factory" was housed in a building (36,000 m2) designed according to the most advanced international principles.

2000

During the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, we were invited to exhibit our innovative hydrogen burner project, developed by our Research & Development department, at the Casa Italia. The original production facility in San Maurizio d'Opaglio was expanded in 2007 with a new structure which, while retaining important industrial characteristics, was designed with respect for the environment and for the people who live and work in it every day. Geothermal and solar energy, hydrogen combustors and radiant systems characterise this modern production unit

.
